PDF TAKEOFF

Reviewed PDF takeoffs for flooring and wall finishes.

Upload a drawing, check its scale in both directions, and trace the floor or wall-finish scope. Review rooms, finish codes and deductions before calculating quantities. Export the numbers with their source evidence.

Check both known dimensions

Open the correct PDF and page. Choose a labeled horizontal reference, mark its endpoints, and enter the known dimension. Repeat with a vertical reference from the same drawing view.

Review both references before saving the scale. A quantity is useful only when its calibration matches the drawing you intend to measure.

Trace the scope and its deductions

Trace a floor boundary or wall-finish path for the work you need to measure. Review the geometry and record the applicable voids or openings, rather than treating the entire drawing as included scope.

In the walkthrough, a floor polygon follows a practice office and a separate void excludes its column. Each boundary and deduction is checked before the measurement is added.

Review rooms, finishes and the source

Assign the room and finish code from the drawing and its finish schedule. Review unclear assignments before calculating. For item counts, check the markers and the full search area before using the result.

Fictional practice example: a 20-by-12-foot room is 240 SF gross. A reviewed 2-by-2-foot column deduction leaves 236 SF of flooring.

Keep quantities with their evidence

Calculate after reviewing the saved project. Download quantities and room CSV files, or the audit JSON, and keep the source page and review record with the numbers.

These exports contain takeoff quantities. Supply and verify your own prices, labor and waste separately when preparing an estimate. The takeoff is not a priced material order.
